Plant Embroidery

Every year, when my garden is abundant in plants, I choose a few to do botanical studies from. I pick whatever vegetable, plant, or flower I want to study and create sketches in my sketchbook. Then I translate each sketch onto fabric and begin stitching. As I thread paint each piece I really think about making it in the style of vintage botanical illustration.
