My project for course: Captivating and Dynamic Character Creation

The final project for Jackie Droujko's course was creating a character illustration. Let me take you trough the process!

First I chose my prompt: monster hunters! I started by sketching out a lineup of characters, trying to use different shapes and proportions to create some fun and different personalities.

After cleaning up the rough sketches it was time to add colours. I went with murkier colours as that's how I imagined their world to be. After rendering the designs, my lineup was finished.

With the help of my Instagram followers I chose one of the designs to explore further. Well in the end, I chose two, it was a lot of fun :) With the help of some photo references I sketched out some possible poses for both characters.

To wrap it up, I chose one pose from each character and rendered it the way Jackie taught in the course. It was a different colouring approach for me and I really enjoyed it. Here are the final results!
