Putting it all together
The Camelia Project
Now I enter the phase of putting it all together. I prepared different sorts of structure paintings and background swatches and also I made drawings for cut outs of the Camelia flower and leaves. I started making different compositions on different backgrounds and made some photos.
After many drawings and compositions I now try to make backgrounds for my LightArt sculptures.

I enjoy playing with the different materials and surfaces. The Camelia needs another layer of watercolor tot reveil the whiteness of that flower I Think. But what color does it need and how saturated?

Teacher PlusThis is a beautiful collection of drawings. I love that you have chosen to work from decaying fruit but brought them to life with vibrant colours and energetic lines. The Camelia has a lovely delicate quality already so I would try to avoid losing that. Perhaps slightly darker in the centre of the flower with the colour you already have there - to give it depth, and I would try and dark green background to offset the white of the petals - but that's only my thought and you may come up with your own way of revealing the whiteness. Great work though, thank you for sharing.

@laura_mckendry thank you so very much for your comment. In your course you give so many good ideas for trying out and experimenting with colors and materials. So now I tried different backgrounds by cutting out the petals of the Camelia and simply change backgounds. For this I made several backgrounds with paint and with pastel crayon.
