Always liked mythological creatures and there was a winged lion in the Philadelphia public library that inspired me to take a sculpture class and make my own interpretation. There's some influence from Persian statues from the 700-800s BC as well. I made a clay sculpture first, then my teacher helped me make a cast. I then mixed granite powder with resin and filled the mold. My partner helped me with the black paintspray and marble-like finish.
