Here are the three images from my Final Project!
I'm really happy with the outcome of the shoot and thought it would be interesting to run you through some of my thoughts and considerations for each photograph.
Collage
This was the most challenging shot of my final project. There were lots of different elements that had to be taken into consideration for the final image to come together. Finding a model who was comfortable, working out the sizes of the cut outs, printing with colour accuracy, attaching the cut outs to the models body, and making sure the lighting accurately reflected the mood and feeling I wished to convey. With attention to detail and pre-planning, the idea came together and I'm really happy with the photograph.
Glass
The outcome of this portrait was really interesting as it wasn't what I was expecting. I originally planned, and thought, that I'd prefer the circular glass fish bowl. However, I made sure that I had some different shapes and sizes to experiment with on set. I loved the rectangular glass tank and it was something I hadn't experimented with in the past. It wasn't until I was shooting that I noticed the double reflection in the glass...! I started to experiment with different angles and tweaking the lighting until I was happy with the result. The lesson to take from this is to have options on the day so you're able to be playful, but also to allow for the idea to adapt and develop organically, even if it wasn't what you had first visualised in your head. It's allowing this room for improvisation which will often lead to the most interesting results.
The third image is just cropped into the rectangular glass. Again, it's about being playful, crop into the image, rotate it, play with it. As this can transform the image into something totally different.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the images. Do you have a favourite? And if you have any questions on my final project, then just let me know!
