Discover original resources to practice your anatomical drawing
Gabriel Suchowolski (@microbians) asked the Domestika community to share some of their favorite resources to practice drawing poses. Below you will find a collection of sites that were shared to help people practice anatomical drawing, develop characters, and discover new ways to approach their art.
Pose Space
This site allows you to search for all kinds of poses by professional artistic models. Its search engine filters photos by position, genre, lighting, nude photos, and more. There are images to view, download and buy. If you want to save poses, you will need to create an account.
Character Designs
A site with thousands of reference images for artists, all with different Creative Commons licenses. It includes nude galleries with different poses, specific references for painting and drawing, people in costumes, museum sculptures, armor, suits and much more.
Folio
A good place to practice faces are fashion sites. At Folio, you will find photographs of hundreds of models. By clicking on a model's name, you can see different photos from their portfolio with very varied poses.
Mark collects police photographs from different periods on his Flickr account. They are an excellent resource to practice faces with interesting expressions. He also published a book with a selection of these photographs.
A Tumblr page of various anatomical sketches and diagrams. The poses are free of charge and free to use, and for a small fee you can request a special diagram from the author. It includes a selection of anthros and anime characters.
