Garage Guest House Conversion

This is the finished project of my garage conversion into a guesthouse. It was once a crumbling garage where all matter of things were stored which wasn't needed, so to make it a usable space again it underwent a complete renovation to make it what it is today.

I had to get incredibly creative as the budget was very tight, but I wanted to make certain parts of the space into design features and worked out how to push the basic materials to make an impact.

MDF was used to construct a full wall of shelving, drawing the eye up and down and displaying objects which were collected from either charity shops or high street finds.

Behind the bed I wanted to add some depth and detail, so simple wooden batons were cut to size and added to create a ribbed effect which casts shadows in different lighting and adds some much needed detail to flat walls.

Vases were up cycled with tester pots and baking soda to create a textured effect, adding an earthy element to a muted scheme.
