hello @dabntz I was checking your courses and I have a question, could you tell me which of the courses you have do you recommend more or how is one different from the other? and which one would you take first?
@cryptomtz Hello! If you do not have experience in pixel art, or if you have some experience but have never done it professionally, I recommend you start with Introduction to the design of characters in pixel art .
The difference between the two courses is in the difficulty and also in what is learned. They are intended to be done consecutively. In fact, I'm currently working on the third course that will deal with pixel art environment design for videogames .
In this way, the courses can be differentiated as follows:
- Introduction to character design in pixel art : A course for beginners where you will learn to design a character for video games and a basic environment. You will go through all the main techniques to take into account in the development of any pixel project, as well as the particularities to take into account if it is a 2D video game design. Theories or principles of design are also taught, applied to pixel art, such as Color Theory or Lighting Techniques.
- Animation of characters in pixel art for videogames : It is a recommended course for people who have already started in the technique, although it can also be done if you are a beginner. In it you will learn to animate from scratch and step by step a pixel art character for video games. You will understand how to use the Pyxel Edit program and its specific tools for animation, as well as techniques and principles of traditional animation, which in the course we apply to pixel art. Your character will have animation of stopping, waiting, walking and hitting. We will also animate the environment around it in a basic way using modular aniation, which is explained in the course.
