One question, how have you attached the arms and legs to the pet's trunk? Have you done it by modeling vertex by vertex or is there some modifier or shortcut?

That's it! What I did in my case was to put what I wanted to join into a Volume Constructor, and the Volume Constructor into a Volume Mesh Generator. (You can find these in the Volume button at the top)
In the Volume Constructor I reduced the size of the voxels a bit and you will see where it is done as you add the elements within the Volume Constructor, and I put some Smoothing Layer to make it look better.
It is a quick solution, it is probably not the best, but I found this method so fast searching on YouTube basically, for results so fast that you don't really need more. And much faster than vertex to vertex clear.
