This photo editorial featuring German based musician and artist Santans was featured by Marika Magazine in issue 1604. It has been a lot of fun to experiment with a translucent background, adding in colours, foreground elements and prisms. All the colours have been added "in camera" by shooting through coloured gels. And other than simple color grading, there was no intense photoshop work done.
Regarding the colour theory offered in this course, I decided to work with neighbouring colours, rather than color contrasts.
Maybe next time I should try to separate the model more from the background, for example by using an edge light or by lighting the model in a slightly different color than the background.

Docent PlusHi Emanuel! This is beautiful work, well done!
I love the colour palettes. In regards to what you're saying about not going for colour contrasts, there are still a few complimentary colours here like the Oranges & Blues and the slight Purple hues of the outer circle of your projection which compliments the yellow flare of your coloured gels. None the less, very beautiful choices of colours. I love! What source of light did you use for the circle projection? Is it one of those sunset lamps? I love the gradient in it!
Which fabric did you use to drape the background with? Is it linen or canvas?
This is obviously an aesthetic preference, but if you don't have access to a Lee Filter like I used in the course, but you want a smoother backdrop, I would recommend getting a steamer to help even out the fabric. Also, I would just let the fabric hang from the top bar without clamping it on the sides of the stands so you don't get too much wrinkling in your fabric.

Eivind, Thank you so much for your comments on my photos! I really appreciate your Suggestions.
The fabric is a very thin linen fabric. I wanted to go for a more gritty retro vibe, but I agree that I could have invested more time in steaming the fabric. 😅
You guessed correctly: It’s a sunset lamp with a holographic color gel, that shifts the color according to the angle of the light. I also used a second holographic color gel in front of the lens to achieve the overall blue tint and the orange flares in the foreground. These colors and flares are addictive!
Thanks again for commenting. I had a lot of fun following your course.
