This is Softimage XSI (very powerful Software, but already dead, since Autodesk has decided to eliminate it in favor of Maya and 3DMax) and Photoshop.
Cheer up with 3D, you can do almost anything with almost any 3D software.
Well, if you don't want to get bogged down in technical aspects, I haven't worked with it, but Cinema 4D seems to give good results and learning the basics is fast. If you are looking for something more complex but more versatile, I would say Maya. Both available for Mac.
